New mailing list for Wikimedia Canada

[edit]

Good day, this message is to inform you that Wikimedia Canada has created a new mailing list operated by Mailman. This mailing list is for all discussions related to the Wikimedia movement in Canada, in both English and French. Announcements from Wikimedia Canada will always be bilingual, but you are welcomed to discuss in any language of your choice. The old google group will be abandoned. To join this mailing list, please go to [1]. To send messages to the list, write to general(at)discussions.wikimedia.ca. Also, please forward this message to anybody who may be interested. Thank you and do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. JP Béland (WMCA) (talk) 13:43, 22 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited ZX Spectrum Next, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page DAC. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:51, 2 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Queen Elizabeth II Formal photograph

[edit]

Hi I would like to ask for your help to correct a mistake in the article

Queen Elizabeth II Formal photograph is written as 1958 in the article but this photo was taken in 1959

Hope you can help fix this error 61.216.108.177 (talk) 01:42, 21 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @61.216.108.177,
I don't personally know if this is true or not but there seems to be a consensus that the image we are using was part of this photoshoot meaning that it was published in 1959, but actually photographed in 1958. In my opinion, without a source definitively saying that our image is from 1958, we probably should go with the what the Libraries and Archives Canada record says, which is 1959... so I do agree with you, but I don't feel strongly enough to pick a fight over it! Can I suggest you start a friendly discussion on the article talk page?

I saw the information in this link and thought he was in 1959 2401:E180:88E0:2978:72F0:63D1:3F33:8140 (talk) 10:32, 22 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion contested: Kenwood Mews Apartments

[edit]

Hello Thparkth. I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of Kenwood Mews Apartments, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Buildings are not eligible for A7. Thank you. BangJan1999 23:42, 21 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @BangJan1999 that's understood - but this building is also a corporation. Thparkth (talk) 00:07, 22 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Thparkth: Fair enough, although I'm not sure if the article makes this point clear. BangJan1999 00:18, 22 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
