Welcome aboard!

Those are some nice images--please do read Wikipedia:Image use policy though and make sure they are adequately described and used in an article somewhere.

Please pay attention to other's edits, and read the image use policy--your "additive" and "subtract" images were in the wrong format, so I replaced them with higher-quality and smaller PNG images "AdditiveColorMixing.png" and "SubtractiveColorMixing.png", which are shown on the primary color page. --LDC

Thank you Lee.
You are all right for the PNG format.
The pictures I uploaded was to use in the french Wikipedia.
But like we don't have any upload feature on our page, we using the english version to do it.
(We discussed that on international Wikipedia mailing-list)
I think [unused images] page it's full of pictures used on other Wikipedia ;o)
Also, we don'y have the "image descrition" feature, it's why I didn't fill it until now... but I will do it.
Cheers,

Aoineko

Konnichiwa Aoineko. I see you have recently uploaded an image called Image:lg-flag.jpg to the image list, for use on the French Wikipedia. Now, apart from the minor error that it is the Latvian flag and not the Lithuanian flag as mentioned in the image page, could I perhaps interest you in the new standard flags, available at List of flags? There you'll find a Latvian flag with better colours and the proper ratios. Merci -Scipius

Thank you very much. 220.96.183.170 14:42 Dec 6, 2002 (UTC)

De rien

[edit]

You're welcome. I mostly used Babelfish to do the translation with a lot of editing. I don't actually know French although I can read a tiny fraction (since English has a lot of French words and also due to a few years of Spanish classes many years ago). I'm sure anyone could have done it (and it might need some corrections, especially for the transliterations). Daniel Quinlan 07:48, Nov 12, 2003 (UTC)

Do you think it may be a problem if I had the 2nd page ? Perhaps I have better to wait until the 1st will be removed from the "to delete" list. Aoineko 08:25, 12 Nov 2003 (UTC)

French auto-translated stubs

[edit]

I'm actually using Google's auto-translator to French. I only use Babelfish when I make stubs on Asian languages.

I'm able to fatten up the article about the Paris embassy plot and perhaps AA 63, but the EN article about the Limburg bombing doesnt have much either. WhisperToMe 01:58, 5 Dec 2003 (UTC)

Automatic translation work fine in some case, but you can't use it if you don't have some basic knowledge in this language. For exemple, fr:Parcelle de terrain d'attaque de terroriste d'ambassade des Etats-Unis à Paris have no sens. Translate this page from French to English, you will laugh a lot ;o)

Heiroglyphs

[edit]

still thinking about that LaTeX plugin fr heiroglyphs? you might make the suggestion to some people on #mediawiki one day. I think it's a great idea to have access to that characterset. +sj+ 00:29, 2004 Mar 19 (UTC)

Steward: Thanks :-)

Hi Aoineko,

I have not yet had the chance to get to know you more, but thank you nevertheless for the trust you gave me by giving me your vote for Steward. I feel very honored.

If you ever see me doing something you disagree, please let me know. I always want to learn, to improve.

Unverified images

[edit]

Hi! Thanks for uploading the following image:

I notice it currently doesn't have an image copyright tag. Could you add one to let us know its copyright status? (You can use {{gfdl}} if you release it under the GNU Free Documentation License, {{fairuse}} if you claim fair use, etc.) If you don't know what any of this means, just let me know at my talk page where you got the images and I'll tag them for you. Thanks so much. [[User:Poccil|Peter O. (Talk, automation script)]] 07:33, Dec 10, 2004 (UTC)

P.S. You can help tag other images at User:Yann/Untagged_Images. Thanks again.

Biographie Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov

[edit]

Stevage 10:53, 23 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:Japon Shinjuku1.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Japon Shinjuku1.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fritz S. (Talk) 20:17, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:France_Lyon2.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:France_Lyon2.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 13:08, 29 January 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Shyam (T/C) 13:08, 29 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

wikihiero additions

[edit]

wikihiero help

[edit]

cher Aoineko I have a huge favor to ask. I'm teaching at a university here in Japan (Kumamoto), and one of my students wants to do her seminar paper this coming year on hieroglyphics. Knowing that she couldn't get a word processor to handle the glyphs, I thought to set up a mediawiki installation so she could do her paper on the wiki and then print it out. Unfortunately, wikihiero doesn't seem to be working, though it is working on your aoineko.free site and on wikipedia. Is the copy of the index.php in the extension the same as the one on your site? Any leads you could give me to get this working would be greatly appreciated, please leave a note in my user talk page. Tomeiter (talk) 17:34, 26 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Watermark in image

[edit]

I was helping to move Image:France Lyon1.jpg to the Wikimedia Commons and noticed that it had a watermark, which is against Wikipedia's image use policy. If you would upload a new picture without the watermark to the Commons (commons:Image:France Lyon1.jpg), that would be much appreciated. LyrlTalk C 19:18, 6 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In fact, watermark was the image use policy when I uploaded it long time ago ;) I'll try to upload a more bigger version without watermark. Aoineko (talk) 15:48, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

{{en}}

[edit]

Hello. I recently removed {{en}} from article Styx: Master of Shadows because the template is deprecated: English is assumed, since this is en.wikipedia, and this template can be confused with with one from commons. {{en icon}} is the replacement, if you prefer to use it. For links to more details, see Template talk:en. The article is looking good. Thank you. —PC-XT+ 00:54, 23 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, no problem. Aoineko (talk) 09:49, 23 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
