Welcome to WikiProject Ice Hockey! Our goal is to better organize articles related to ice hockey. This page and its subpages contain their suggestions; it is hoped that this project will aim to help and focus the efforts of other Wikipedians. If you would like to help or have any questions, please inquire at our talk page.

We welcome all individuals who have a passion for ice hockey to work on this project. If you are interested in becoming a member of WikiProject Ice Hockey, please feel free to put your name here.

Our goals[edit]

For more information on these objectives, look at the information on or several departments below. Feel free to help us with these.

Project organization[edit]

Projects[edit]

Hockey Mountain[edit]

A collaborative effort to improve every article on Hockey Hall of Fame members and other influential players, ultimately to Good Article status or better. Feel free to work on one of these many articles.

Departments[edit]

Assessment[edit]

The assessment department focuses on assessing the quality of project-supported articles. The resulting article ratings are used within the project to aid in recognizing excellent contributions and identifying topics in need of further work, and also play a role in the Wikipedia 1.0 program. The assessment is done in a distributed fashion through parameters in the banner. This causes the articles to be placed in a set of categories that serves as the basis for an automatically generated worklist. As soon as an article is created, it should be ranked by the assessment department.

Peer Review[edit]

People may request a peer review on a page, in order to potentially take it to a higher level. Feel free to give a peer review.

Clean up[edit]

There are certain WikiProject Ice Hockey pages that need clean up. Feel free to help with them.

Requested articles[edit]

People may give a list of articles they want to be created. Feel free to make one. Note: If you want an article to be created, please feel free to create it yourself.

Article improvement[edit]

People may give a list of articles as well as ways they can be improved. Feel free to help.

Requested images[edit]

People may request images of players to help their articles. Feel free to contribute.

New articles[edit]

People may list new WikiProject Ice Hockey articles. Feel free to add some. Note: This page is outdated.

Featured Topic Drive[edit]

People may list articles they want turned into a featured topic. Feel free to contribute. Note: This page is outdated.

Season Article Drive[edit]

People may volunteer to update teams' season articles. Feel free to contribute. Note: This page is outdated.

Task forces[edit]

Groups of Wikipedians within WikiProject Ice Hockey have grouped together to form task forces. These task forces look to help a particular field or team within ice hockey. If any of these task forces pique your interest, feel free to join.

Note: Many of these task forces are not used frequently, and they are simply becoming "one (or zero)-person shows." However, if you want that one person to be you, no problem. Be bold!
