Final movie quote needs correction

[edit]

The last line of the movie is "Get some rest, Pam. You look tired." In this article, it's misstated as "Get some rest, babe. You look tired." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.59.187.105 (talk) 06:19, 17 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Done. The wrong version had been protected and restored. Chaheel Riens (talk) 07:20, 17 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@208.59.187.105 and Chaheel Riens: I was unaware of this until recently, when I checked the Wikipedia page for something else literally minutes after having heard the line, "Get some rest, babe, you look tired." I was able to re-check it a few hours later, as this was one of the times when the Bourne films were re-running in sequence on a cable channel. Anyone who watches the film and hears the line will know that the character "Pam" is addressed as "babe" in that line, but I've found no discussion of that fact in the sorts of reliable sources upon which we ordinarily rely here. – Athaenara 08:32, 17 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
It may sound like "babe", but it also sounds a lot like "Pam" - which is her name, and what the subtitles display. Also online scripts say "Pam", not "babe". Let's not get into the OR of the complete unlikelihood of Bourne calling a deputy CIA director "babe".
This is a lot like the Star Wars legend that Luke calls Princess Leia "Carrie" when he gets out of his X-wing after the battle for Yavin. It may sound like something - but it isn't. We have an article for this - Mondegreen.
In the absence of reliable sources, which is the more likely - that Bourne would say "Pam", or "babe"? Chaheel Riens (talk) 10:17, 17 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I watched it recently, and confirm the subtitles say Pam, and having double checked it again now it also clearly sounds like Pam to me as well. Very poor use of protection. As and when it is removed or expires, the quote should be corrected to the Pam version. Scribolt (talk) 11:58, 20 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
It currently does say "Pam" - ECP doesn't affect my user status, so I changed it back on the 17th August. My question is more around the ECP itself, not so much the content that prompted it. Chaheel Riens (talk) 13:22, 20 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I spoke too soon then, got confused with the diffs. Apologies for any additional confusion. Scribolt (talk) 15:48, 20 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
