Waluigi in Super Mario 64 DS

I'm Tired of always deleting it, don't people understand Rumors don't belong here, especially ones that have been proven false

Super Smash Bros Brawl

I removed a section claiming that Waluigi has a good chance at being in SSBB. This is nothing more than a theory.

But now that Wario is confirmed, it seems worthwhile to say that Waluigi has a shot. RememberMe? 20:51, 11 May 2006 (UTC)

Not really. If thats the case, then should we add that note to all WarioWare and Wario Land characters pages? It's impossible to guess the likeliness of characters in SSBB.

For what it is worth, in Mario Power Tennis, Wario's court depicts him in his WarioWare attire. Granted that MPT is a spinoff and therefore not cannon, but when the game was made by the same company who created Waluigi in the first place, it should mean something (even if a minor and pointless thing at best.) Hemog 11:27, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

Ijiwaru

I read in the August 2000 (Volume 135) of Nintendo Power that Waluigi's name is not a portmanteau of "warui" and "Luigi" but a rearrangement Japanese word "Ijiwaru" meaning "bad spirited."

Actually, it's both.
To the guy who wrote the "because they're stupid" comment: Way to me impartial. Try not to insult people when you write articles, ok?

Japanese SSBM Trophy

Is there a translation of Waluigi's trophy description from the Japanese version of SSBM? I'm thinking it might say something about whether he's related to Wario or not. Agent CH 01:29, 12 November 2005 (UTC)

Yes, can someone confirm? A user in this edit on the SSBM page listed it as trophy errata, although SSBM clearly lists this in doubt. What is verified and canon and what is not? Hbdragon88 03:40, 3 January 2006 (UTC)

The new stuff under "Relationship with Wario"

Should it be edited to say that it suggests the relationships it states? Because it seems like the "unclear relation" thing from the SSBM trophy is still used as the final word. Agent CH 04:20, 12 February 2006 (UTC)

I know, why count THAT as final word? Everything else points towards them as being brothers, why count one of 293 Trophies in one game as the final word? RememberMe? 03:44, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
Give me a NOJ link that states that they are brothers, then we can talk.--69.242.175.18 06:14, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

Are Mario and Luigi twins, or is Mario older?

"Moves and Abilities" and "Allies" sections

I do not think that the "Moves and abilities" section is appropriate for Wikipedia. I am about to delete it so if anyone disagrees, discuss here. Maybe it would be possible to keep it in the article - but as a sentence(s) not a list. As it is it does not belong on Wikipedia. The- 17:09, 2 March 2006 (UTC)

I have now deleted it as well as the unnecessary "Allies" section (I never thought of Magikoopa as Waluigi's ally), if anyone disagrees discuss here. The- 17:15, 2 March 2006 (UTC)

I have deleted it again, as I found out the person who created it did so to back up an argument that "Waluigi should be in SSBB"

Did Waluigi appear in WareWare Twisted? I heard a rumor that he did.

I finished the game and I don't recall seeing him in it. If he was in it at all, it must have been a tiny cameo.

Waluigi World!?

Can somebody please give me a link to the fangame mentioned in this article called Waluigi World? I actually made a fangame called Waluigi World, myself, so I'd like to see it. RememberMe? 20:05, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

Here it is:

Taunts in Strikers/WWE Reference?

From the "Trivia" section:

Waluigi seems to be an avid WWE Fan, due to vast his usage of WWE taunts in Super Mario Strikers.

I've never played Strikers, so I was wondering what "WWE taunts" does he use (other than the DX crotch chop, which I've heard about)? Jeff Silvers 06:34, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

I don't understand why this is in the main page: "uses both his arms to point at the back of his jersey saying "Wa-lui-gi!" like World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Superstar Rob Van Dam." That really didn't help me understand the character of Waluigi. --Thaddius 12:42, 6 June 2006 (UTC)

Yes, I agree, this is a really weird comparison.

Extremely pointless info

This article shouldn't be a dumping ground for people's ideas for SSB movesets, which is exactly what that Moves and Abilities section was. It even went as far as to point out that one of the moves wasn't actually used by Waluigi, but its to be assumed that he could. Additionally, I have never seen any indication that Magikoopa, Chain Chomp, Bob-omb, and Pirahna Plant are allies of him, and an Allies section simply consisting of Wario would be pretty inane. Xubelox 06:42, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

On a similar note, the "Criticism" section seems very unprovable and thus unencyclopedic. Does anyone agree? -Unknownwarrior33 02:33, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

As true as the criticism is, I do agree. Xubelox 01:12, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

I've heard Waluigi appears in Game & Watch Gallery 4, infact the cover art clearly depicts him.

Waluigi does indeed appear in G&W Gallery 4, both in the Boxing game, and as an extra hazard in the harder difficulties on Rain Shower.

Please Stop Copying Stuff from the Super Mario Wiki and Putting it Here

Everyone at the SMW is getting at us for copying Wikipedia, when in fact most of the time editors at Wikipedia are copying us. Whoever it is, please stop. As far as each wiki is concerned, the other one should not exist.Waluigi Freak 99 23:15, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

What exactly is being copied?? -SaturnYoshi THE VOICES 07:09, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
Various setences and trivia mostly, but it warrants enough for a Wiki-dump template to be added to the article.

Alter-ego

Waluigi is not Luigi's "alter-ego". --A gx7 09:23, 24 December 2006 (UTC)

Waluigi in Wario Ware Smooth moves?

Does any one have more pictures of waluigi in Wario Ware Smooth Moves? The waluigi in the wario ware smooth moves has the same mustache as wario.

http://img257.imageshack.us/img257/588/dsc00861if6.jpg Hard to see, but the guy with the green shirt has Waluigi's nose and moustache. -MrDrake, 12:10 PM GMT

It turns out that Waluigi is not in Wario Ware Smooth Moves. The waluigi caricatures are actually wario caricatures. It has a wario mustache and different wario shapes. The guy in the green shirt is not Waluigi.

Many people disagree with you, as it is also on the Wario Ware: Smooth Moves Wiki page. If you really think it isn't supposed to be/look like Waluigi, then let's just do this: Anybody viewing this page, say whether you think it's him or not. -MrDrake, 7:41 PM GMT

IMO it is, only because of the length of the face and the nose seems thinner, which is almost exactly how Waluigis is to Warios -Exodecai101, 4:27 PM EST

Those are different shapes of Warios. They all have the same clothes and mustache. Somebody said Waluigi is not in the game and that person completed the game. Waluigi is never in any Wario Ware games. Plus I checked other sources and not one could show a valid picture of Waluigi in Wario Ware Smooth Moves.

Is anyone able to check the descriptions (if there are any) of the mini-games that they think involve Waluigi? If he's in it, it might reference him in one of them. Hardcore gamer 48 04:58, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

Cut information

The cut information is either redundant or pointless (relation to Wario, name, trivia, every game mention) or original research (origin, personality), so there is no point in it. Nemu 03:52, 28 April 2007 (UTC)

If this is the case, then why aren't the rest of the mario characters cut like Waluigi?

They actually have relevant information, and aren't confined to spin-offs. Sign your posts with ~~~~ . Nemu 13:45, 28 April 2007 (UTC)
What is there to discuss. You have literally cut information that users have taken a long time to write. I think it is very disrespectful and uncalled for. The Prince of Darkness 18:23, 28 April 2007 (UTC)
Ask most respectable editors, and they'll point you to WP:NOT#IINFO. Ask at the VG project, and they'll probably point you there also. Really, just because you classify it as important doesn't make it so. Nemu 18:53, 28 April 2007 (UTC)
Wait, so his Info was removed because he's a Filler/Spin-Off Character, if so, that's by far the worst excuse ever. Exodecai 00:30, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
No, it was removed because it was unnecessary. It's being merged because he is a non-notable character. Nemu 00:31, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
I Do Believe some of it should of been removed, but not all of it, these should of stayed - Games (Obvious), Personality, Connections to Wrecking Crew (Although it is Original Research, it is indeed ACCURATE original research, it wasn't something just mentioned once, it was mentioned a few times in his appearances), Relationship With Wario (People still question if the 2 are brothers, so this should be there) and that's good enough, the appearance could of been merged in the opening paragraph, and the name is already in the opening paragraph, so it doesn't need to be rementioned, and the Trivia can be removed. Exodecai 20:46, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
Most of that stuff is junk as explained below:
Games - He only appears in spin-offs, so nothing besides the fact that he appears in sports games and in the Mario Party series needs to be mentioned. Mentioning ever appearance is just pointless.
Personality - an amalgamation of OR and junk. If a certain habit or something is present, it can be mentioned with his appearance.
Connections to Wrecking Crew - OR, enough said.
Relationship With Wario - a bunch of junk. They're brothers as stated; explaining every mention is pointless. Nemu 20:53, 30 April 2007 (UTC)

Waluigi - Older or younger brother?

Just so we don't have any problems with this in the future, Nintendo has not explicitly stated whether Waluigi is older or younger than Wario. However, if we are to follow the line of reasoning that Waluigi mimics Luigi, and Luigi is the younger brother to Mario, we can assume that Waluigi is the younger of the two. Hence, I reverted the recent edit that said otherwise. Of course, if this page gets merged, it doesn't really matter. ;) Suigi 23:43, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

Update Character Artwork?

I've noticed Waluigi has new artwork from Mario Party 8, and I was wondering if his page should be updated to have this artwork

New merge

OK, this should be merged. WP:FICT and WP:WAF require real world info, and they cannot be satisfied. This is also just a repeat of the destination page. Numbers don't make a consensus, discussion around guidelines and policy do, though. Using WP:WAX, WP:ILIKEIT, and other variant will just get you ignored. TTN 00:27, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Waluigi has appeared as playable characters in almost all side games since his debut, appeared as the final boss of the boxing game in "Game and Watch Gallery 4", as the main villian in the Mario dance dance game, and most of the sports games openings feature him in a large role. (Granted this wasn't done int he soccer games but that's just 2 games) Vilerocks 00:33, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
In-series notability is not a large factor in deciding whether or not something needs an article. Pleas read WP:FICT and WP:WAF to see the actual factors. TTN 00:37, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
Nintendo seems to enjoy pushing Waluigi as a main character. As a side note, you don't need to worry about me trying to use WP:ILIKEIT or something similar, only deleting some of my favorite fictional characters would get a personal reaction from me, and there's not many characters who meet that requirement, Waluigi is not one of them either. Vilerocks 00:42, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
Again, in-series notability means nothing. Please familiarize yourself with the above guidelines. TTN 00:44, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
If there's a bigger article on Lakitu then there is on Waluigi then he deffinatley doesn't need an article. The entire article is covered on the List of Mario series enemies. All he appears in are Party and Sports games, he should be merged into the enemy list. Takuthehedgehog 16:53, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

The Waluigi article was much larger in the past, granted that was also back when we had entire articles for chainchomps and such, they still deserve their own article too. Vilerocks 16:59, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

They don't "deserve" anything. They need to meet the criteria for a character article. This only had OR, game guide material, and unsourced information anyways. TTN 17:03, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
Prove that it was, I looked through the old version of the article and it wasn't any of the things you just said it was. Vilerocks 17:40, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
All of the junk like the name etymology, trivia, relationship to Wario, and "Possible connections to Wrecking Crew" were complete OR. The rest was trivial game guide material. TTN 17:43, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
Incidentially, do you see the size of the super mario wiki's article on Waluigi? Vilerocks 18:50, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
That is a fan site, so they may have as much stuff as they would like. I'm not really seeing your point as it has no baring on this conversation or this site. TTN 18:58, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
Waluigi, being a main Nintendo character, ought to have a full page for himself. He's not a typical "enemy", and he is part of the mario family. Besides, Pirahna Plants and Goombas get full pages, so why not Waluigi? 67.153.95.254 19:30, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
See WP:NOTINHERITED and WP:WAX. TTN 19:31, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

IP...Waluigi is a FILLER CHARACTER! Like Daisy. Angry Sun 19:33, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

I Hate When People use the Filler Excuse, which is why I can't wait for the day he's in a non spinoff game so nobody can use that Exodecai 21:13, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Too Bad. It's the truth. Even Nintendo admitted it I believe. Angry Sun 22:14, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Waluigi is important enough to have his own page, hater. Non of the stuff on this page should have been deleted, and I'd like to petition an Un-Deletion of the material this page contain, only with shortened stuff about the Wreaking Crew connecton, which is admittedly speculation. And also, Daisy wasn't a filler character, she the princess in Super Mario Land, and the main character of the (although terrible, but still important) Mario Bros. movie. Also does anyone know how I can reclaim my name and password? I've lost track of them.

One game does not make a main character. Daisy is filler.

Movie is non-canon. Angry Sun 23:27, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Waluigi is more then a common "enemy" in the series. Vilerocks 23:30, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Your point? It still doesn't mean he requires an article. He can probably be placed on a character list after things settle for a bit. TTN 23:32, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Then how come Daisy has her own page with no mess or fuss but Waluigi is suddenly enemy #1?!

I plan on trimming that article when there will actually be a destination for it. At this point, there is no real place to merge her. TTN 23:41, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Neither does Waluigi. I'm fine with thier being a "Filler Characters" page, as long as ALL filler characters are put on it.

Also note that Petey Pirahna is much less notable then Waluigi yet he has a much larged page. Vilerocks 23:44, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Petey is just up because of wikilawyering. He will be remerged soon. TTN 23:46, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Nevermind, Petey's article seems to have been merged into the pirahna plant article since i last checked on it. Vilerocks 23:46, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Okay... the article on the pirahna plant has a small stub section for Petey, but there apperantly is still a petey article. Vilerocks 23:52, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

It will be redirected fairly soon. Either the user will give up or I will have to get outside help. Feel free to redirect it if you would like. Please use ":" to format your posts. It keeps the discussion cleaner. TTN 23:54, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

As I mentioned earlier, he should be merged, but into a Filler characters page, not "The List of Mario Enemies" page.

So, is a page like that going to be created? -GEM036

I hope so, it's WAY better then shoving him in the enemies list. Vilerocks 15:52, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

I Agree w/ a Fillers Page, he isn't really an enemy, but question, if he does ever get a big role, will he get a main article back? Exodecai 18:03, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
I plan on transforming the list of characters into a real list after this settles. He and the other villains on the enemies article can be placed there. If he gets a role, and it gives him enough information for an article, yes. If all we can do is add a few sentences about it, no. TTN 18:06, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
I'll be redirecting this soon if we have no objections that are more than the character's importance in the series. TTN 20:33, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
Well, I hope the Mario Fillers Section is made. I really don't think he belongs in the enemies section.
It'll be the main character list, not an actual "fillers section." TTN 21:08, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

Why did you put him in the enemy list again? Vilerocks 02:48, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

There is no other place for him at this point. I'll work on the character list after all of the pointless articles are merged and settled. TTN 02:53, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

In that case, can you speed it up a bit? Seeing Waluigi in the enemy list aggravates me. Vilerocks 03:58, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

If you feel like convincing Henchman 2000 to let the articles he's holding with the "consensus needed" junk be redirected, it'll happen right away. Otherwise, it'll be a bit. TTN 12:16, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
IMO, until we get the other section, I feel the article should just stay put, it really doesn't belong in enemies at all. Exodecai 03:14, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
It really doesn't matter that much. If you really feel the need, you can start converting List of Mario series characters to an article style list. TTN 03:16, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

Itadaki Street DS

I added his appearence in Itadki Street DS back in , as it was important and should not have been removed. Still need help with my name and password.

It's too minor to care about. Only appearances that really contribute need to be mentioned. Goto the Help Desk to ask questions, not here. TTN 23:44, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
What makes it too minor? He should be able to have his "filmography" (so to speak) featured on his page.
Information needs to be in an overview form. We don't just add every minor thing. TTN 23:50, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
Fair enough. That seems logical.

Waluigi Page Deletion!

I have written up a page for him, but someone keeps deleting it!

There is very little speculation in my article, and am confused as to why it keeps getting deleted...—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Raz2b (talkcontribs) 08:30 17 August 2007 (UTC)

See WP:FIRST, WP:RS, WP:OR, and WP:N. Reading through those will give you a good explanation of why Waluigi doesn't have (or need) a page --Lucid 08:43, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

Why is this back here?

I thought the community finally came to the conclusion that Waluigi belongs as a list entry, and is not notable enough to have his own page. Has the situation changed since then? Suigi (talk) 04:29, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

I'm taking a guess that possibly Brawl has something to do with it? Since he's in it (as an AT) and not the other fillers (or Bowser Jr. for that matter), so I'm taking it because of that he's found more important now? Don't really know what to say here :S Exodecai (talk) 21:23, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, I guess that's the basic idea. I assume that's why Diddy was added to the template aswell. "Brawl promotes all", if you will. It's fun to rhyme.GEM036 (talk) 14:27, 14 February 2008 (UTC) Also also, apparently Waluigi gets his own game! Finally! w00t!!!!!!GEM036 (talk) 14:26, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

Should we include a section about Waluigi's previous sexual partners?

I have a LOT of information on this topic and would like to get some input from others. — Precedi ng unsigned comment added by 173.8.61.173 (talk) 20:30, 11 May 2015 (UTC)

Absolutely not. No reliable source exists to corroborate your claims. Black Yoshi (Yoshi! | Yoshi's Eggs) 00:26, 12 May 2015 (UTC)

Absolutely. It's crucial to Waluigi's character. Skittyguy67 (talk) 23:45, 6 May 2020 (UTC)
